Dear Friends and Subscribers:
As this year’s annual Torah rotational study comes to a close, with the beautiful recording of the blessing (Habrachah) over the Tribes of Israel by Moses as recorded in Deuteronomy 33:1-34:12, we can be filled with happiness and a sense of accomplishment to have studied so deeply, while gaining the golden treasures of God’s Word, and having been strengthened by it!
As I prepare to reroll the Torah scrolls in my own mind and heart, looking forward to our return into the Book of Genesis (B’RESHEET) 1:1 the week of October 17th, I prepare those who follow along with Torah study via the Website that we will start afresh, in this ancient, cyclical style of study as commanded by the Lord.
ADONAI revealed how He would etch TORAH upon the hearts of His people! How does this etching take place?
By every word of TORAH that drips like a waterfall over our lives, as we study like this. Enjoy the article below which says it so well!
THE POWER OF TORAH!
One day, while sitting by a brook, the Rabbi Akiva noticed a steady trickle of water hitting a rock. It was only a drip, but it was constant – drop after drop after drop.
Akiva observed something incredible: A hole had been carved out by that steady drip of water. He wondered how that could be. He concluded:
If something as soft as water can carve a hole in solid rock, how much more so can words of Torah – which is hard as iron – make an indelible impression on my heart.
On a deep level, the story of Rabbi Akiva teaches that every drop of Torah, even if undetectable, makes an impact. TORAH, the WORD of the Almighty, has unparalleled power to effect change. Sometimes we do not perceive it, and the results are not apparent until years later.
But if one keeps at it, the majesty of the Almighty’s TORAH will penetrate!
Drop after drop after drop, it will carve into your NESHAMA (Spirit) and transform you.
“For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days,” says ADONAI: “I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
